Evaluation of Web Shear Design Procedures for Precast Prestressed Hollow Core Slabs

چکیده
Precast, prestressed hollow core slabs (HCS) are commonly used by the construction industry for floor and roof systems worldwide. Generally, web shear strength governs design of such members. This is because width resisting stresses relatively small prestressing force at bottom restrains flexural cracking. Although most available codes follow Mohr’s circle stress estimating cracking capacity HCS, they produce different scattered predictions. paper gives more insight into provisions HCS in five codes. These include ACI 318, Eurocode 2, European standard EN 1168, CSA-A23.3, AASHTO LRFD specifications. A set 229 data points was established from experimental investigations literature on that failed shear. The dataset evaluating methods results analysis indicated both simplified method 318-19 produced very conservative In contrast, 2 unconservative predictions specimens dataset, whereas 318-05 gave deeper sections. On other hand, reasonable were obtained 1168 while CSA-A23.3 provided better Proposed modifications presented improving HCS.

Experimental Study on Precast Concrete Shear Walls with Different Hollow Slabs
To study mechanical behaviors of shear walls built with precast two-way hollow slabs, two shear walls with different details of hollow slabs were quasi-statically tested under low cyclic loading. The failure mode was analyzed, which vertical macro-cracks appeared on walls due to the details of hollow slabs. Brittle shear failure can be avoided in terms of the failure behaviors evolved from inte...
متن کاملCOMPARATIVE COSTS OF THE PRODUCTION, TRANSPORT AND ASSEMBLY STAGES OF PRESTRESSED PRECAST SLABS USING GENETIC ALGORITHMS
In the precast structures, optimization of structural elements is of great interest mainly due to a more rationalized way that elements are produced. There are several elements of precast prestressed concrete that are objects of study in optimization processes, as the prestressed joist applied in buildings slabs. This article inquires into cost minimization of continuous and simply supported sl...
متن کاملSeismic Design Considerations for Precast Concrete Shear Wall Connections
The performance of precast shear wall panel structures subjected to earthquakes relies on the behaviour and integrity of the connections between the panels. The current lack of knowledge on the seismic behaviour of precast wall connections limits the use of such systems in earthquake areas. This paper presents results of an extensive experimental program undertaken at the University of Manitoba...
متن کاملStudy on Metering Scheme of Seismic Experiment for Shear Wall Built with Precast Hollow Slab
Abstract: Shear deformation is the most principal deformation in the lateral deformation of shear wall built with precast hollow slab which is designed to be strong shearing and weak bending. The special mechanical characteristic of the shear wall is the relative deformation of the concrete on both sides of vertical and inner joint respectively. The study introduces the measuring scheme of shea...
متن کاملOptimization of Precast Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girder Systems
60 A practical approach to the optimal design of precast, prestressed concrete highway bridge girder systems is presented. The approach aims at standardizing the optimal design of bridge systems, as opposed to standardizing girder sections. Structural system optimization is shown to be more relevant than conventional girder optimization for an arbitrarily chosen structural system. Bridge system...
